It’s often said that money is one such thing that has the ability to divide families, best of the friends, barons as well as the miserly. But how true is it? This news piece, somehow, throws light on the fact. Powerball Jackpot

According to a published news on March 23, 2010, Court proceedings have begun in the trial of two octogenarian sisters. According to the resource publishing it, the two sisters have been fighting over a $500,000 lottery jackpot.

The two octogenarian sisters, among which, one is an eighty-four-year-old Theresa Sokaitis from Middletown and 87-year-old Rose Bakaysa of Plainville. In the New Britain Superior Court on Tuesday, Sokaitis is suing for a share of a $500,000 Powerball jackpot.

This powerball jackpot was basically won by Bakaysa and their brother, Joseph Troy Sr., in 2005. Where the last August, state Supreme Court ruled that Sokaitis could sue her sister, on the basis of written contract with her to split gambling winnings.

These gambling winnings included lotteries and casino games that they often played together. Whereas,  Bakaysa’s lawyer says that the contract ended the very moment both the sisters had a falling out before the purchase of the Powerball ticket.

Be it gambling or any other reason, its a fact that monetary issues have been splitting people apart, right from husband-wives to brother-sisters to friends and families.
